Shannon Trad

GREENVILLE — Shannon Trad of Greenville joined our Heavenly Father on July 7, 2014. A memorial service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. William’s Catholic Church under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Father Paul Weinberger will be officiating. A rosary will be conducted prior to the service at 10 a.m. at the church. 

Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at funeral home. 

She was born in Greenville on Dec. 12, 1950, to James G. Marshall and Mary V. Hudson. She married her high school sweetheart, Bob Trad, on June 16, 1972.

Shannon was a member of St. William Catholic Church. She received a Bachelor of Arts in interior design from East Texas State University. Early in her career, she was a co-owner of Roomers, Inc. and later pursued coursework in counseling.

She had a passion for helping others, including teaching art lessons to children and cancer patients and volunteering at Terrell State Mental Hospital, among many other charities.

Shannon was an officer in the GHS Flaming Flashes, member of ETSU Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, Epsilon Sigma Alpha service sorority, co-founder of the Women’s Enlightenment Guild, and was involved in women’s Bible studies in Greenville and Rockwall.

Shannon is survived by her husband, Bob Trad of Greenville, son Spencer Trad of Greenville, daughter Tori Wickard and husband Grant of Dallas,  sister Cindy Price and husband Steve of Nacogdoches, sister Melissa Sheppeard of Greenville, and grandchildren Claire Redlaczyk of Bella Vista, Ark., and Coen Wickard of Dallas, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

In her last moments, she said it was very important that her friends and family knew how much she loves them.

In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
