Betty “Geri” Barnes, 79, of Campbell died May 16, 2013, at her residence. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Bobby Sparks officiating. Interment will be in Brigham Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Barnes was born in Frisco on Sept. 23, 1933. She was the daughter of Roy B. and Dovie Hammock Carroll. On June 27, 1952, she married Jack Barnes in Fort Worth. She lived in the Greenville and Campbell area for more than 40 years.
Mrs. Barnes retired from Raytheon in 1995 after 27 years as a secretary. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Barnes of Campbell; a son, Michael Barnes and wife Dawn of Campbell; grandsons Zachery Barnes of Campbell and Sgt. Dylan Barnes stationed in Afghanistan and wife Desiree of Fort Campbell, Ky.; great-grandchildren Lauryn, Cameron and Michaela Barnes; a brother, Herschel Carroll of Joshua; sister Imogene Teague of Campbell and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Virgle, Leonard, Loyd and Joe Carroll.
Pallbearers will be Steve Vett, Cory Vett, Bobby West, Leroy Perry, Zach Barnes, Sgt. Dylan Barnes, Ray Meador and Kerwin Black.
