Doris Jean Faulkner, 88, of Greenville passed away Feb. 5, 2013, at Briarcliff Health Center. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kavanaugh United Methodist Church with Rev. Stephen Cotten and Wally Jeffers officiating.
Born Feb. 20, 1924, in Greenville, Doris was the daughter of Ray B. and Reba (Martin) Hayter. She married E.B. (Bobby) Faulkner who preceded her in death.
She was a retired financial secretary for Kavanaugh United Methodist Church where she was a lifetime member. She was also a member of the Jr. Pallas Club, Rejebian Book Club, Scofield Bible Club and an early member of the hospital board.
Her survivors include her daughter, Dee Ann Kirby and husband James of Greenville; grandsons Michael Kirby and wife Ryannon of Anchorage, Alaska, Shane Holder and wife Emily of Garland and Colin Kirby and wife Flora of Murphy; eight great-grandchildren; loving sister-in-law Mary Lee McCoy of Mesquite and her angel, Jo Garner of Greenville.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, son Lee Byron Faulkner, and brothers Ray Hayter and Don M. Hayter.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Kavanaugh United Methodist Church.
