Ronnie Ray Swinson, 65, of Wolfe City died in Oklahoma April 2, 2014.
He was born March 21, 1949, in Wolfe City to Louis Iven and Ruth Rogene Speight Swinson. He married Brenda Malone on March 21, 1969, and later married Sandra Kay Toppings on Sept. 18, 1995.
Mr. Swinson was a member of the Church of Christ faith and was a truck driver for many years.
Ronnie was a quiet man of few words. He loved his family and friends dearly and did not know the line between family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Sandra Kay Swinson of Wolfe City; daughter Shelby Ann Lowery of Bonham; son Eric Shane Swinson of Navasota; their mother, Brenda Swinson of Bonham; stepson Brandon McClanahan; six grandchildren, Taylor Swinson, Tanner Swinson, Wyatt Swinson, Allee Swinson, Haydan Lowrey, and Parker Lowrey; siblings Larry Swinson, James Louis Swinson, Theresa Ann Swinson, Lanny Jack Swinson, Linda Jean Malone, Randy Joe Swinson, and Roger Dale Swinson; and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral service is at 1 p.m. today at Cross Trails Cowboy Church in Fairlie with Greg Horn officiating. Interment will follow at Sonora Cemetery in Fairlie with Cody Malone, Rodney Swinson, Kyle Swinson, Cory Shamburger, Chad Swinson, Wade Swinson, Matt Painter, Cole Swinson, Michael Green and Ramon Pulido serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Muecke, Mark Bussell, Marvin Bailley, Keith Herron, Michael Davis, and Mike Shaw.
