Yvonne S. Pannell, 56, of Commerce died Dec. 13, 2013 in Baylor Hospital, Dallas.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, at First Baptist Church, 1401 Washington, Commerce, with Rev. Rodney Hood officiating. Burial will be in Rosemound Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Cozine & Tarver Funeral Home.
She was born in Greenville to Elmo Sitggers Sr. and Johnnie Lee Brown. On Nove. 19, 1976 she married Perry Pannell. She was a teacher, a member of TSTA, was voted Teacher of the Year (Black History), and she was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Greenville.
Survivors include her husband, Perry Pannell of Commerce; her mother, Johnnie Lee Stiggers of Lone Oak; five brothers, Paul Adkin of Wolfe City, Elmo Stiggers Jr. of Dallas, Donald Stiggers of Lone Oak, Gary Stiggers of Austin, and Samuel Stiggers of Bristow, Va.; five sisters, Rosie Mae Edwards of Tyler, Elise Mae Booth of Tyler, Sonja Everett of Sherman, Jacqueline Trigg of Greenville and Doris Crockett of Sherman; special friend Tempist Kelly of Greenville; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and four brothers.
