Dalma Rae Walker, 89, of Caddo Mills passed away on April 19, 2013.
She was born on Sept. 5, 1923, to William and Lillie Mae Martin in Hunt County. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and friend.
She devoted her life to caring for not only her family but all those she encountered. She loved to sew, had the greenest thumb and was a voracious reader.
She particularly delighted in sharing her time and love of learning with children. She will be remembered for her boundless love, gentle nature, and sweet smile.
Dalma is survived by her son, Leonard Ray Walker and wife Frances of Fate; daughters, Sue Walker of Bellingham, Wash. and Nancy Brightwell and husband Jim of Caddo Mills; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Walker; parents; sons, David and Michael Walker; sisters, Ina Mae Mynar and Edith Fain; brothers, M. E. and William Robert Martin Jr.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2013, at Lynch Funeral Service chapel in Greenville. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at the Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter Day Saints in Greenville. Interment will follow immediately at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas.
