Berta Mayo

GREENVILLE — Berta Mae Wright Mayo, 83, went to heaven at 7:18 p.m., April 18, 2013, at her home surrounded by her loving children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as she was escorted by angels from this life to her eternal home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Ron Hight officiating. Interment will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Born March 18, 1930, in Wolfe City, Berta was the daughter of Olan R. and Edna (Payne) Wright. On May 27, 1972, in Greenville, she married T.W. Mayo. She was a seamstress for Haggar Slacks and was a member of Family Fellowship. 

She was the sweet mother of Michael Waldroup of Greenville, Ronnie Baker of Royse City, and Ricki Baker Sr. of Dunedin, Fla., and daughters Judy Stogner of Greenville and Sue Wright of Forney. She is also survived by her brother, Grover L. Wright of Celeste; grandchildren Shelly Farr, Brian Farquhar, Tisha Summerall, Troy Wright, Ricki Baker Jr., Brandi Burton, Mitchell Baker, and Lindsay Baker; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters, and two brothers.

Pallbearers will be Ricki Baker Sr., Ronnie Baker, Mitchell Baker, Ricki Baker Jr., Rocky Stogner, and Jimmy Summerall.
