Horace L. Pannell, 88, of Commerce passed away March 2, 2014, in Commerce.
Horace was born in East Caney, on April 16, 1925, to Rosevelt and Verter Pannell. He was retired from the original Bickham Florist in Commerce.
Horace’s philosophy was — family stick together, continue to love each other and be there for each other.
Survivors include his two sons, Bobby Joe Pannell of Moline, Ill., and Perry Charles Pannell of Commerce; his four daughters, Rosie Woods of McKinney, Versell Savage of Commerce, Jackie Spencer of McKinney and Barbara Crosby of Commerce; his grandchildren, Craig Lewis, John Woods Jr., Bobby Pannell Jr., Chaka and Connie Pannell, Erica and William Spencer, Brad, Jason, and James and Latonia Caldwell; his 15 great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Rosetta Leary, Gladys Adair, Maxcine Wilson and Earnstine Drennon.
Horace was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Ruth Pannell; his grandson, Brad; his brothers, Lawrence Ray, James Pannell, and Eddie Pannell; his sisters, Princella Johnson and Reba Parker; and his parents, Rosevelt and Verter Pannell.
His funeral service is at 11 a.m. today at Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Commerce.
Interment will follow at Rosemound Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons and great-grandsons.
