WOLFE CITY —
Doris Viola Kounovsky, 86, of Powderly, former longtime resident of Wolfe City, died June 25, 2013, at Paris Regional Medical City. Her funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home chapel in Wolfe City with Bro. Tim Hearn of First Baptist Church in Wolfe City officiating. Burial will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Born July 22, 1926, in Keyapaha County, Neb., she was the daughter of Charles A. and Ethel June Eckley Strain. She married Jacob “Joe” J. Kounovsky on Feb. 22, 1944. Mrs. Kounovsky was a caregiver and a member of First Baptist Church in Wolfe City.
Survivors are one son, Gene Kounovsky and wife Stella of Powderly, and one sister, Vonna Irene Walls of Abilene.
Her husband, parents, two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Muecke, Frank Giles, Caleb Ingram, Cord Ingram, Rio Ingram and Joe Woodruff.
