Charles Ray King, 86, was born March 26, 1927, and passed away June 22, 2013.
Charles was born in Childress, Texas to John and Cora King. Charles was of the Baptist faith and proudly served his country in the Merchant Marines during World War II and later served in the U.S. Army. He was the chief engineer at the Davis Building in Dallas.
Charles is survived by his son, Steven and wife, Sue, of Pennsylvania; daughter, Lyn Balko and husband, Danny, of Celeste; brother, J.W. King of Waxahachie; sister, Blanche Weems of Dublin; grandchildren, Michael Girard and wife Ashley, Jimmy Girard, Laura Hlavenka and husband Kevin; and great-grandchildren, Caleb, Korbin, Kolby, Kamon, Carson and Katy.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; wife. Peggy Joyce King and daughter Mary Wright.
There will be a visitation Monday, June 24, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lynch Funeral Service in Greenville and a graveside service, Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 10:30am at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas.
