George A. Brown, 92, of Ventura Calif., went to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ on June 2, 2013.
George was born Aug. 28, 1920, to Austin and Marlow Brown in Lumberton, N.J.
On Jan. 1, 1943, just prior to being deployed to the Philippines, George married his beloved Evelyn Morales in Amarillo. He and Evelyn raised three children together, Georgia, Alan, and Denise. He was a World War II veteran and served in the Army Air Corps, ranking to corporal. George took classes at the University of California, becoming a civil engineer and draftsman. He was employed by the City of Thousand Oaks in California where he retired Aug. 31, 1982.
George was also a faithful active member of Ventura Baptist Church in California. He later took classes at the Moody Bible Institute to further his knowledge of the Bible and his Lord, Jesus Christ.
Those left to celebrate his life include daughter Georgia Edwards and husband John of Wichita Falls; son Alan Brown and wife Sandi of Ventura, Calif.; grandchildren Kelli Mabe, Kristi Bruce and husband Robert, Shane Brown, Stacey Saenz and husband Obed, Nick Brown and wife Rosa, and Amber Ducote; great-grandchildren Nick Gallaway, Amanda Keener and husband Justin, Vincent and Angela Brown, Brianna and Ashlyn Eickhoff and Alyssa and Cassi Edwards; great-great-grandchild Kinzy Keener; and special buddy/granddog, Milo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Marlow Brown; wife Evelyn Brown; daughter Denise Ducote, and grandson Shawn Edwards.
