Edna Ryan

COMMERCE — Edna Earl Ryan, 105, of Commerce, passed away June 12, 2013, in Commerce..

She was born on Feb. 6, 1908, to Jay and Willie Jernigin in Commerce. 

Edna was a circulation librarian at ETSTC, now Texas A&M University-Commerce. She retired as a school librarian at Hobbs Junior High School in Hobbs, N.M.

Survivors include her son, Joe Ryan and wife Nancy of McKinney; her daughter, Sally Ryan Allen and husband James of Phoenix Ariz.,  her five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her niece, Betty Foley; and, her nephews, Carl Brown Jr., Kerry Brown and Bill Brown.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Billie Brown; and her two brothers, Jim Jernigin and Woodrow W. Jernigin.

Memorial services will be conducted at a later date.

Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home of Commerce is in charge of arrangements.
