Richard Horton


— Richard Wayne Horton, 68, of Greenville went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at his home. Funeral services celebrating Wayne’s life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan with J.D. Horton officiating.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m today.

Wayne was born Feb. 27, 1945, in Greenville, the son of William C. and Edna Lee Hall Horton.  He was one of eight children, raised and educated in Wolfe City. On June 7, 1968, he married Sharon Davenport Horton; and they made their home in Greenville where they lived until just a few months ago when they moved to Lone Oak.

Wayne worked in the manufacturing industry for E-Systems, Varo and Goodyear.

He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and was an avid Texas Rangers’ fan. He also was a Little League baseball coach for several years.

He is loved and will be missed by his wife, Sharon; sons Chad Horton and wife Holly of Greenville and Cole Horton of Lone Oak; daughter Stacy Phillips and husband Gary of Greenville ; a sister, Dorothy O’Mera and husband Charles of Carrie, Miss; sister-in-law Pat Boyles and husband Dennis of Lone Oak; three granddaughters, Heley, Emma, and Rylea; and two grandsons, Cody and Kyle.
