Joyce Seale, 78, passed away May 6, 2013, in a Dallas hospital.
She was born on Sept. 1, 1934, to her loving parents, Raymond and Dorothy Mott in Mangum, Okla.
Those left to celebrate her life include her husband, Bobby Seale; a son, Mark Seale and wife Cindy; daughters Debbie Glover and Robin O’Glee and husband Shannon; four grandsons; two granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
We cannot forget to mention her canine companions, better known to her family and friends as “The Girls.”
For the past 30 years Joyce was an avid collector of carnival glass. Her collections consisted of some of the rarest glass produced, and she was a mentor to many other carnival glass collectors.
She was active in several organizations including the Heart of America Carnival Glass Association, the International Carnival Glass Association, and her favorite club, the Texas Carnival Glass Club.
Joyce spent many hours baking cookies and working in the hospitality room, all to promote her love of both the glass and her friends.
As a result, she was awarded the Outstanding Service Award from the Heart of America Carnival Glass Association in 2009, and the most prestigious Whitley Award from the Texas Club in 2010.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Dorothy Mott; her sister, Mickey; and her brother, R.S. Mott.
Visitation will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Peters Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville.
The family request making donations to one of Joyce’s favorite charities, The Salvation Army, instead of sending flowers.
