'Keith' Litchfield

LONGVIEW — Charlie “Keith” Litchfield, 67, of Longview passed away on Friday, Aug. 30, 2013. Keith was born in Palestine, to Foster and Lois Litchfield. 

He grew up around the Cayuga/Cross Roads area and graduated from Cayuga High School in 1964. He married Gretta (Glasgow) in the summer of 1965. They were married 48 years and lived most of their lives in the East Texas area.

He was raised in the Baptist church and was a member of the Winfield Baptist Church in Winfield.

Keith was a veteran of the Air Force and served one tour in Vietnam in 1967 to 1968. After leaving the Air Force he started work for Texas Utilities where he found his love for building and working on large machines.

In his spare time he loved to fish, watch the Rangers, woodwork, and grill. He was very active in the Vietnam Veterans Association and enjoyed volunteering for their many events. Keith was known for his story telling and his ability to make everyone laugh and have a good time.

Keith is survived by his immediate family, Gretta “Glasgow” Litchfield, of Longview and Lori Litchfield, of Flower Mound and family friend John Richardson, of Flower Mound. He is also survived by his brother, Royce Litchfield and sister-in-law Linda Litchfield, of Greenville.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Royal Ray and Jean Glasgow, of Malakoff and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jimmy Dean and Joanne Glasgow, of Athens as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, ] at St. Michael and all Angels’ Episcopal Church of Longview with Jeff Richardson officiating. Interment will be at a later date in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday prior to the memorial service.

Donations can be made in Keith’s memory to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund.
