Marjorie Watson Sparks, 96, of Greenville, formerly of Temple and Baytown, passed away Nov. 18, 2013, at Briarcliff Health Center. Graveside services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the San Jacinto Memorial Park in Houston.
A visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home in Greenville.
Marjorie was born in Des Arc, Ark., on Aug. 8, 1917, to John Ward and Faye Davis Watson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Jim Huffer of Hot Springs, Ark.; daughter Kathy Head Derby and husband Cedric of Greenville; sister Frances Rogers of Little Rock, Ark.; a grandchild, Anthony Brian Townsend of Mt. Pleasant; and great-grandchildren Chea Townsend, Cody Townsend, Rayn Townsend, and Marci Stone Wooten.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, H.T. Head Jr. of Baytown and George W. Sparks of Temple; stillborn baby boy; and a son, Tommy Huffer of Arkansas.
