'Red' Lyons

LONE OAK — Memorial services conducted by the family and the church for Ronald Dean “Red” Lemons, 62, of Quinlan, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church of Lone Oak with Bro. Jack Schultz officiating. Burial of the cremains will be in Hooker Cemetery, Lone Oak.

Mr. Lemons passed away Nov. 16, 2013, at his residence.

He was born March 17, 1951, in Dallas to Lester and Dorothy McGlasson Lemons. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Germany. “Red” was proud to be an American veteran. He worked for Tawakoni Fence and built fences.

He married Helen Jeanette Reed in Quinlan on Aug. 8, 1998. He lived most of his life in Lone Oak prior to moving to Quinlan 25 years ago.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Lemons and Mickey D (his four-legged son) of Quinlan; his mother, Dorothy Lemons of Lone Oak; brothers James Lemons and David Lemons and wife Anette, all of Lone Oak; sister Linda Brookins of Lone Oak; stepson Ronald Barton and wife Mary Jo of Irving; many beloved nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Lemons; niece Leslie Lemons; and stepdaughter Barbara Barton.

Cremation arrangements are with Bartley’s Lone Oak Funeral Home.
