Kevin “Blake” Gassett, 26, of Point, formerly a longtime Greenville resident, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 11, 2012, in Longview following a motor vehicle accident. Funeral services celebrating Blake’s life are at 10 a.m. today at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan with Pastor Charles Carter officiating; interment will follow at Smyrna Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Mark Cropper, Kyle Morgan, Jay Salsman, Kenneth Crowe, Cody Walls, Zachary Rainey, Brandon, Glover and Ryan Baker.
Blake was born Sept. 1, 1985, in Greenville. He is the son of Kevin and Pamela Turner Gassett. He was raised and attended Greenville Christian, Greenville High and New Horizon schools in Greenville. Blake enjoyed working with his father at Automatic Gas Company for the past several months. Blake had a love for music and he enjoyed listening to heavy metal music and was learning to play a bass guitar his friend had given him. He liked playing Hacky Sack, video games, and fishing. Blake was also a junior license scuba diver, but his favorite time was spent being with his family and friends.
He is loved and will be missed by his parents, Kevin and Pamela Gassett of Point; grandparents Johnnie Ray and Charlotte Turner of Point and C.B. Pickle of Greenville; brothers Tony Walls of Point and Robert Walls and wife Christy of New Boston; a sister, Lyndsey Walls and husband Rusty Noland of Greenville; a niece, Zoe Jane Williams of Greenville; and several aunts, uncles and many friends.
