Wilford Barrett, 85, of Greenville died March 1, 2013, in Greenville. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Dr. Roosevelt Broach officiating. Burial will be in Grundy Memorial Park.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Cozine & Tarver Funeral Home.
Son of Homer and Bessie Evans Barrett, he was born March 9, 1927, in Mount Pleasant. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked as a service station attendant at Daniel’s Best Buy and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Anthony Barrett, Rickey Barrett and George Taylor, all of Greenville; seven daughters, Willene Barrett, Barbara Anderson (Ladayne) and Rita Jordan, all of Greenville; Robin Barrett of Garland, Elizabeth Alexander (Robert) of McKinney, Beverly Taylor of Arlington and Janet Jordan of Mount Pleasant; a brother, LV. Barrett of Fort Worth; sister Charlene Noel of Gilmer; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
