Cynthia Ann Rowland, 54. passed away Nov. 11, 2013, at the University Hospital in Louisville, Ky,. following an 11-month battle with leukemia.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Coker-Matthews Funeral Home.
Her father, Rev. Ray Crumpton, and Rev. Benny Chaffin will officiate at the funeral services at 2 p.m., Saturday at the County Line Baptist Church, located on Highway. 275, between Cumby and Emory. Special music will be provided by her cousin, Suzan Pope Chaffin, and her nephews, Samuel and Nathan Blakley.
Burial will be in the Sunny Point Cemetery, south of Cumby.
She was born Feb. 28, 1959, in Dallas, the daughter of Ray and Ann Lindsey Crumpton.
She attended school in the Lone Oak ISD and Bowie Elementary school in Sulphur Springs before moving to New Orleans with her family in 1971. She married Cecil O’Neil Rowland on Feb. 11, 1977, in Beavercreek, Ohio.
She was a Registered Nurse and was employed by the University Hospital in Louisville as a clinical system specialist.
She is survived by her husband of Georgetown, Ind., daughter Jamie and husband Chad Bodenbender of Salem, Ind., and son Dr. Michael and wife Nikki Rowland of Hawaii; three grandsons, David Hoggarth and Noah Bodenbender of Salem, Ind., and Charlie Rowland of Hawaii; her parents of Cumby; sisters Kay Stinson, Denver, Color., Debra and husband Robert Blakley, Livingston, Texas, and a number of aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Offie and Vera Bennett Crumpton, James Hafford Lindsey, Eula Lindsey Parish and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Robert Blakley, Dale Crumpton, Jerry Bearden, Jimmy Clark, Kirk Hammock and Lee Knight. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe D. Crumpton and Dennis Clark.
