W.D. Abercrombie

Waymon “W.D.” Abercrombie, 78, passed away Jan. 18, 2013, in Rockwall.

He was born on July 8, 1934, to Thomas and Magnolia Abercrombie in Scurry. W.D. met and later married Patricia Collins on June 20, 1959, in Dallas.

W.D. worked for Cleveland Twist Drill for more than 21 years. He loved his job and later he loved traveling all over the country with his wife, Pat, for their own business. But his passion was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. His was a smile that will truly be missed.

W.D. was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Magnolia; four brothers; one sister and one great-grandson.

He is survived by his wife, Pat; two sons, Rodney D. Abercrombie and wife Kristy, and Danny Ray Abercrombie; daughters Gail Frame and Cynthia Abercrombie; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family, friends and neighbors.

A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. today at Peters Funeral Home. Interment follows the service at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas.
