Mary Nichols


— Mary “Norma” Nichols of Sun City died March 30, 2013, after a 5-1/2 year battle with lung cancer. She was 80 years old.

Born in Stephenville Crossing, Newfoundland, Canada, she moved to Texas in the early ‘60s with her husband, Delanor W. Nichols Sr. (deceased). Together they lived in many places in Texas and made numerous longtime friends here.

She is survived by her five children and their spouses, Don Shave, Charles Shave and Margo Perry, Brian and Theresa Shave, Del Jr. and Charn Nichols, and Holly and Brad Tabor; 12 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband; her eldest daughter, Mary “Marg” Zebrowski; her mother, Isabela Alexander of Ontario, Canada; and father Richard Alexander of Newfoundland, Canada.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Crestview Baptist Church in Georgetown. The graveside service will be in the family cemetery in Clay County, W.V.

In lieu of flowers, Norma requested donations be sent to the American Cancer Society.
