WOLFE CITY —
Peggy Herron Nelson, 77, of Wolfe City died May 12, 2013, in the presence of her family and went home to be with the Lord following a long illness.
She was reunited with her husband, James, who preceded her in death in 2010.
She was born Oct. 11, 1935, in Pecan Gap. She married James Nelson on July 17, 1953, in Wolfe City. Mrs. Nelson was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Wolfe City.
Peggy is survived by two daughters, Vanessa Cherry and husband Paul and Jamie Thomas and husband Doug; three grandchildren, Emily Wood, Erin Miles and Amie Wood; one great-granddaughter, Macie Self; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Nelson was also preceded in death by her parents, brother Phil Herron, sister Betty Prince, and nephew Dwayne Herron.
A funeral service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Wolfe City with Paul Cherry and Tim Hearn officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City.
Mark Prince, Mark Davies, Cary Herron, Cody Herron, Curt Herron, Russell Brown, and Steve Davis will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Vernon Shive, Bobby Dale Williams, Bill Thompson, Keith Hegon, Ricky Williams, and Michael Prince.
