Born Nov. 20, 1922, in Greenville, Ruth was the daughter of Arvel and Ada (Voyles) Bench. On March 24, 1940, in Durant, Okla., she married W.L. “Bill” Duncan; and they celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary just last year. Ruth/Momma dearly loved her large family, and always enjoyed cooking all of the holiday celebration meals for the family gatherings. She will be remembered by all for her deep affection for and enjoyment with her large family, and with her “boot-scoot’n” friends.

Ruth’s survivors include her son, Robert Duncan and wife Carlene of Greenville; daughters Nita Stone and husband Jerry of Princeton and Linda Sims and husband Jerry of Greenville; brother Vernon C.  Bench Sr. of Cash; sisters Leta Money and Martha Baughman Dial, both of Greenville; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; one brother; and one sister.

Her grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family requests that memorials be made to Highland Terrace Baptist Church, 3939 Joe Ramsey Blvd., Greenville, Texas  75402.
