GREENVILLE — David Alexander Binns, born May 23, 1930, in Nashville, Tenn., died March 23, 2014, in Caddo Mills. His service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lynch Funeral Service, 4238 Hwy. 34 South in Greenville.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Frank David and Minnie

Busby Binns.  

Survivors are his wife of 58 years, Frances Smith Binns; daughter Carolyn Binns Brown (Ron); grandchildren David Brown (Tennille), Jason Brown and Julie Brown Booker (Chris); great-grandchildren Taylor  Brown, Callie Norwood, Victoria Brown and William Brown; and sister Janet Binns Williams.

David grew up in Nashville, graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1948 and received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Vanderbilt University in 1959. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

David loved and worked in the communications/technology industry most of his life, starting as an engineer for radio station WLAC-AM in Nashville. He enjoyed a successful career in many sales and engineering positions. He was a licensed pilot, loved ham radio and exploring new technology.

The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
