Doye Eugene Lux, 65, of Quinlan, passed away on July 11, 2013, at his residence following a 20-month battle with cancer. A memorial service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Highland Terrace Baptist Church in Greenville under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Rev. Steve Bishop, Pastor Lee White, Mr. Karl Hilphrecht, and Mr. Wes Nelson.
Doye was born April 24, 1948, in Fort Worth to Albert Wesley Lux Sr. and Billie June Barnes Lux. He graduated with the Brewer High School class of 1965. In 1977, Doye married Vicky Len Langford in Canton.
He began his 32-year career with UPS as a driver in Denton. His work took him across the country and around the world, during which time he ascended to the position of International Systems manager. In 2003, he retired and purchased family land in Hunt County where he currently resided.
Doye is survived by his wife of 35 years, Vicky Len Lux; sons Stephen Eugene Lux and David Edward Lux; daughter Kerri Michelle Lux Hicken; son-in-law Andrew Vermont Hicken Sr.; brothers William Ray Lux, Guy David Lux, and John Edward Lux; sister Linda Nell Lux Nelson; and grandchildren Dustin Eugene Lux and Andrew Vermont Hicken Jr. In addition, Doye had many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Doye was a very special person who never met a stranger. Doye was also an influential member of Ridin’ High Cowboy Church in Union Valley. He will be missed by all who knew him.
