Patricia Ann Carter Denney, 70, died Jan. 3, 2014.
A celebration of her life will take place on Jan. 18 at 4 p.m. at Cox Building Playhouse in Plano.
Pat was born March 19, 1943, in Greenville. She graduated from Greenville High School with the Class of 1961.
She had a variety of interests from growing and showing African violets, gardening, needlepoint, parliamentary law, movies, theatre, reading and travel.
She traveled across the United States and Canada and to London, Italy, Ireland and Paris (all of the trips on her bucket list). She lived her passion, flying airplanes as a mission-rated pilot for Civil Air Patrol in Wisconsin and Nebraska.
Pat had been skydiving, hot air ballooning, flew a glider in the Rocky Mountains, and rode in a helicopter with her grandson to celebrate his birthday.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver Carter, the longtime manager of the Piggly Wiggly stores in Greenville and Emory, and Dorothy Ragan Carter.
Pat is survived by her son, Darren Denney and wife, Hali, of Grand Prairie; her daughter, Anna Denney, of Flower Mound; grandchildren Spencer and Kaylynn, and her faithful companion, her Doberman, Morgan. She is also survived by uncle Rayford Ragan and wife Molly of Greenville, and aunt Freda Alford and husband Jimmy of Memphis, Tenn.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Doberman Rescue of North Texas or Operation Kindness.
