Howard Burton

GREENVILLE — Howard Eugene Burton, 73, of Caddo Mills passed away on Nov. 23, 2012 in Greenville. He was born on Oct. 20, 1939 in the Hendrix Community South of Caddo Mills to Marcus and Elizabeth Burton.

Howard was a wonderful and loving son, brother, Uncle, and friend. He was a farmer as well as a rancher, and was also a member of First Christian Church in Caddo Mills. He graduated from Community High School in Nevada and excelled in agriculture, shop, and was a member of the Boy Scouts. Howard was a member of the Caddo Mills Volunteer Fire Department from 1971-2003 and was the Assistant Chief for approximately 15 years. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman and was always looking out for the needs of others.

His survivors included his beloved dog Chelsey. Sisters Marcella Wright and Madelyn Smith of Greenville. Sister in law, Kay Burton of Rockwall. Nieces and nephews, Sherry Wright, Rhnea Ausmus, Frances Dowell, Valerie McGee, Tammie Smith, Elmyra Shirey, Laverl Smith, Euphania Thomas, and Heather Smith. Great nieces and nephews, Vincent and Nicholas Toarmina, William and Jason McGee, Rhiannon Bruins, Logan Farr, Barrett, Courtney and Emily Shirey, Brandi and Brittany Thomas, Colton and Hannah Smith, and Madelyn Oden. Soon to be great great niece Bellani Neff. p

Howard was proceeded in death by his parents, Marcus and Elizabeth Burton. His brother, Harrell Burton.

 Also, his brothers in law, David Smith and William H Wright. A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Funeral Home. The funeral will be held on at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Lynch Funeral Home Chapel in Caddo Mills.
