Stella Martin

Stella Ann Gore Martin, 97, of Klondike, passed away June 25, 2013, at her residence. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today in the Delta Funeral Home chapel in Cooper. Terry Bryan will officiate. Interment will follow in the Sharon Cemetery near Winnsboro.

Mrs. Martin was born in the Pleasant Grove Community in Wood County on June 12, 1916, the daughter of Will H. and Idella Cannon Gore. She married Hurl Raymond Martin on June 11, 1938; and he preceded her in death on July 14, 1990.

She was a member of the Klondike Baptist Church and was a retired seamstress and homemaker. She had lived in Klondike since 1957.

Survivors include a son, Billy Martin of Klondike; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter-in-law, Anna Marie Martin; two brothers; four sisters; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
