James Cate II

GREENVILLE — James Peterson Cate II, 63, of Caddo Mills passed away April 15, 2013, at Hunt Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Butch Bruton officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 Thursday morning until service time.

Born Dec. 6, 1949, in Madill, Okla., James was the son of James Peterson Cate I and MaryAnn (Livengood) Cate. On Aug. 24, 1986, in Tulsa, Okla., he married Suzanne Stewart. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a retired engineer and was currently employed at Lowe’s Home Improvement in Greenville. He was a member of the New Life Church in Caddo Mills.

His survivors include his wife of Caddo Mills; sons Keith Spanberger and wife Debbie of Caddo Mills and James Cate and wife Amy of Humble; daughters Amy McCain and husband Patrick and Misty Cate, all of Kingston, Okla.; brother Raborn Cate of Lubbock; sister Louann Vaughn of Spring; grandchildren Collin and Tesia Spanberger of Ardmore, Okla., Joshua and Ashley Underwood of Germany, Ricky Spanberger of Afghanistan, Parker Spanberger of Caddo Mills, Jordan Bell, Halleigh, Branden, Brenna, and Maddy McCain, all of Kingston, Okla., Ethan Cate of Humble, and Zack and Zane McDaniel of  Humble; great-grandchild Astaire Spanberger of Ardmore, Okla.; and numerous extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
