Panza Harrison

GREENVILLE — Panza Mae Harrison, 89, of Greenville passed away Sept. 18, 2013, at Legend Health Care with her family at her side. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Brent Grissom and Don Coppinger officiating. Interment will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park.

Visitation is from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.

Born Sept. 27, 1923, in Red River County, Panza was the daughter of Nealie and Birtie (Brown) Provence. She married Jesse Harrison, who preceded her in death.  She worked in childcare and was a member of First Assembly of God where she was a member of the Women’s Prayer Group.

Panza was a very loving mother and was known as Granny to all. She valued life and genuinely cared for all she knew. When you hurt, she hurt; and, when you rejoiced, she rejoiced with you. She was the best prayer warrior, and your prayers became her life. She will be missed greatly.

Her survivors include her son, Joe Harrison and wife Elaine of Greenville; grandchildren Jonathan Harrison and wife Emily of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jana Kilgore and husband Klint of Lenexa, Kan.; great-granddaughter Sophie Harrison of Jacksonville, Fla.; sisters Bonnie Stringer and husband Orville of Paris, Betty Grissom of Bogata, and Connie Grissom of Paris; and many nieces and nephews..

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and sister Pauline Williams in 2012.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Stringer, Richard Weemes, Jerry Grissom, Mike Williams, Donnie Williams and Jimmie Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Stringer, Randy Grissom and John Martin.
