SCOTTSBORO, Ala. —
Robert Lewis Caryl Jr., 61, of Grant, Ala., died Feb. 23, 2014, at Cloverdale Manor.
Robert was a software programmer who was also a “gamer,” “motorcycle enthusiast,” “grammar Nazi,” World War II “buff,” and a man with a large heart and personality to match.
Robert is survived by his wife, Bettye McElhaney Caryl; sons Robert L. Caryl III, Brandon S. Caryl and Adam J. Caryl; grandchildren Anna, Eliza, Noelle and John Henry Caryl, and Braden and Ansley Caryl; a sister, Cindy Caryl Burden; and special friend “Tobiwandognobi.”
A celebration of life will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday in the Rudder Funeral Home chapel, 716 South Broad Street, Scottsboro, Ala. 35768 (256-259-6430).
