Joshua Gerber

LONE OAK — Memorial services for Joshua Edmund Gerber will be at 10 a.m Wednesday at Lone Oak Baptist Church in Lone Oak conducted by the family and the church with Bro. Robert Cook officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bartley’s Lone Oak Funeral Home.

Mr. Gerber passed away Feb. 14, 2014, in a Greenville hospital.

He was born July 29, 1981, in Mesquite to Steven Dayle and Valerie Marie Zelasney Gerber. He lived most of his life in Lone Oak and was a Christian and a believer in Jesus Christ.

He was an aircraft technician at L3 Communications in Greenville and was also a martial arts instructor and mixed martial arts lifetime student.

Survivors include his mother, Valerie Gerber and stepdad Robert Miller of Steamboat Springs, Colo.; sons Ethan Adair-Gerber, Ayen Gerber and Ryu Gerber, all of Lone Oak; mother of the boys, Jennifer Gerber of Lone Oak; brother Billy Gerber and wife Ana of Aubrey; sisters and spouses, Brittany and  Josh Finney of Hull, Ashli and Shane Harrison of Royse City and Crystal and Stacy Venable of Lone Oak; Aunt Vonda and Aaron Durkee of Shady Shores; Uncle Ted and Stacy Zelasney of Cash; Grandpa Ed Zelasney and girlfriend Stacie Clayton of Caddo Mills; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Steven Gerber.
