GREENVILLE — Larry Don Brown, 59, of Quitman went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Jan. 19, 2014.

Larry was born Jan. 9, 1955, in Greenville to Donald and Imogene Brown. He grew up in Hunt County spending many years living in the Quinlan area. He graduated from Quinlan-For High School in 1973 and attended college at East Texas State University. Larry worked most of his life in construction, building homes with his father and brothers.

On Aug. 16, 2000, Larry married Laura Nerad, and the two settled in Quitman where they made their home for the last several years.

Larry loved building and creating things and was a talented woodworker and craftsman. He always enjoyed playing and coaching sports, music, telling jokes and stories, working on his tractor and spending time with his grandchildren. Larry was a proud Texan and equally proud of his Cherokee ancestry and heritage.

Larry leaves behind his loving wife, Laura; children William Brown, Tirzah Gabriel, and Frank John Nerad; grandchildren William Price Brown, Abednego and Everlette Gabriel, and Diana Rose Nerad, as well as his brothers, Morris, Randy, Tracy, Ronald; and sister Kathey; and his mother Imogene Brown.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Belinda and his beloved father, Donald Brown.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Sunday at Ford High School in Quinlan.
