Roy Doyce Phillips passed away on Jan. 12, 2014.
A private family memorial will be at a later date at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colo.
Roy Doyce Phillips was born on Jan. 16, 1932, near Greenville to Roy Manley and Billie Faye Ross Phillips. He graduated from Greenville High School in 1949 and participated in all sports.
After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War. He received the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
While in the Navy, he married Lillian Harvey on July 12, 1951 (GHS Class of 1950). They recently completed 62 years of happiness together.
After being discharged from the Navy, he attended Odessa Junior College for two years, and then began a 36-year career with Amoco Production Company.
He retired on July 1, 1993 as a senior staff administrative analyst in regulatory affairs.
Roy and Lil are members of Granbury, Texas, Presbyterian Church.
Survivors are his wife, Lil; son, Ron Phillips and wife Debra of Golden, Colo.; daughter, Leesa and husband David of Arvada, Colo.; son, Kyle and wife Dawn of Littleton, Colo.; sister, Peggy McWilliams of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Jaylan, Jason, Jennifer, Brittany and Zach; and four great-grandchildren, Michael, Kait, Payton and Cameron, plus nieces and nephews.
