WARREN, Ark. — Opal May Koger Gavin, 100, of Warren, Ark., died Jan, 14, 2014, at the Bradley County Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 16, 1913, in Caddo Mills, Van Sickle Community, a daughter of the late Alfred Koger and Bammie Winters Koger.

She was a housewife and homemaker all her life and the widow of the late J.C. “Coot” Gavin whom she married Jan. 16, 1940, in Greenville. He died August 8, 1991. Also proceeding her in death were her brothers, Harliss Koger, Loyd Koger and Dennis Koger; sisters, Fay Copeland and Rogene Coleman.

She is survived by three sisters, Gladys Owens of Greenville, Dorothy Thompson of Mesquite, and Joe Ann Tate of Stephenville, nd a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Frazer’s Funeral Home. Burial will be in Union Cemetery at Rye.

Visitation is from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
