Annie Pearl Eastup Steed passed away Dec. 29, 2013, at Legend Health and Rehab in Greenville.
She was born Feb. 1, 1926, in Greenville, the daughter of Admah Christopher Eastup and Lottie Mae Goodman Eastup.
During World War II Ann was employed at the VA Hospital in McKinney, and the North American Aviation Plant in Grand Prairie. Later she was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell in Greenville.
Prior to her retirement she worked in the insurance field.
She and her husband lived in Utica, N.Y., Arlington, Va., Santa Barbara, Calif., and Garland, Texas. During her retirement years, Ann resided in Holly Lake Ranch, Hawkins, Texas.
Ann is survived by her daughter Pamela Steed, grandson Adam Steed and granddaughter Toby Jo Falwell Norris; great-grandchildren; brother Bill Eastup, sisters Betty Schwene and Wanda Ayersman; nieces, nephews, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James Bruce Steed; brothers Duyard Adolphus Eastup, Jerry Lee Eastup; Wesley Spurgeon Eastup and Admah Christopher Eastup Jr.; and sisters Lera Mae Jenkins, Pernita Lou Curtis, and Barbara Jo Henderson.
Special appreciation is given to the staff of Legend Health and Rehab for the care Ann received during her time there.
