Ruby Hart


— Ruby Geraldine Eggleston Hart (Mrs. J.C. Hart Jr.), our dear beloved mother, was called home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, at 4 p.m., Jan. 18, 2014.

She was born May 18, 1921.

Mother was preceded in death by her “Honey” J.C. Hart Jr., and eldest son Alton F. Stallings.

She is survived by Alton’s wife, Thelma; their five children, 16 grandchildren;Ann Shumate and husband Jay, Pittsburg, and their two children and one grandson; J.C. Hart III and Laura Kirkley, Athens, their two grandsons; Clint D. Hart and wife Cheryl, Athens, their four daughters, eight grandchildren; Jackie Ray and husband Lloyd, Wolfe City, their two children and four grandchildren; Billy R. and Brandie Hart, Athens, their three children and five grandchildren; and Daniel M. Hart, Austin. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and an extended family who all loved “Granny.”

Ruby’s family thanks Green Oaks Nursing Home and Caring Hearts Hospice for their loving care given to our Mother.

The family will receive friend, relatives and loved ones from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home.

Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Assembly of God Church.  Burial will follow in Athens Cemetery.

The family requests memorials be made to the Athens Oddfellows/Rebekah Home in Corsicana in the name of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Hart Jr.
