Myrtle Ruth Curtis, 96, of Greenville, died Jan. 13, 2014, at Briarcliff Health Center.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Shaddox officiating. Interment will follow at Tidwell Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Curtis was born in Hunt County on Feb. 20, 1917. She was the daughter of Guthrie C. Spoonemore and Mattie Frances Pearce Spoonemore.
She married Albert Burl Curtis on Dec. 19, 1936, in McCauley, Texas. She was a member of Salem-Kinser United Methodist Church.
She is survived by sisters, Jean Davis of Fort Worth, Billie Davis of Fort Worth and Mary Helen McCain of Mesquite; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Peggy Travis, Della Nation and Tom Adamson, all of Greenville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Burl Curtis; sisters, Lola Bruce, Frankie Janet Spoonemore and Hazel Jackson; and brother, Omer Ray Spoonemore.
Pallbearers will be Larry Nation, Tom Adamson, David Raub.
Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Davis and Roy Davis.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
