COMMERCE — Robert “Bob” Kayne Oltman, 69, of Commerce passed away Jan. 11, 2013, in McKinney.

Bob was born April 4, 1943, to E.W. and Alice Oltman in Alliance, Neb. He was raised in Ogallala, Neb.

Bob honorably served our country in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1966. In 1989, Bob became a franchisee owner of Subway and opened a shop in Commerce; he retired in 2005 .

Bob enjoyed doing crosswords, playing Sudoku and card games such as Duplicate bridge, poker and Nebraska pitch. Bob was also a willing substitute with Mitzi’s bridge groups, much to the delight of the ladies.

He served on the United Way Board of Directors; he was a member of the Commerce Lions and Rotary Clubs through which he hosted foreign exchange camp students in his home for Texas A&M University in Commerce.
