James Patrick “Pat” Neil, owner and founder of Collectible Trains & Toys, Inc., passed away June 15, 2013, from a very short but brave battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born Dec. 6, 1947, in Greenville, the son of Emmitt Jackson “Jack” Neil and Wilma Christine Creel Neil, who preceded him in death. He attended Mrs. Priester’s kindergarten class, Houston Elementary School, and graduated in 1966 from Greenville High School, where he lettered in football and track. Pat also graduated from East Texas State University, Commerce, in 1971, with a bachelor’s degree in business and finance.
Pat is survived by his wife and business partner, Cheri of Forney; daughters and husbands Kelley and Mike Dowd and their children, Jackson, Sean and Cameron, and Kate and Jon Bradham and their children, Mackenzie and Nathan; cousins Sue Smith and Billy Smith, Philip Smith, and Carolyn Creel; sisters and brothers-in-law Judy and Bob Christopher and Joel and Tommy Reynolds; niece Allison Reynolds Julian and her sons, Austin and Tyler; and nephews and nieces Clay and Kristen Christopher and their children, Cole, Emma, and Briggs; Alan and Kim Christopher and their children, Coady, Kendall and Callie; David Christopher; and John and Karen Christopher.
A private Celebration of Pat’s Life will be held in July.
