ROYSE CITY —
John “Jack” L. Howard Sr., 67, of Royse City died Dec. 1, 2013, in Rowlett. His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church in Royse City with Rev. Raymond Clayborn officiating. Burial will be at Royse City Cemetery in Royse City.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at Cozine & Tarver Funeral Home in Greenville, followed by a wake from 6 to 7 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church in Royse City.
Son of John L. and Bobbie Lee Howard, he was born April 17, 1946, in Mount Pleasant. He was a farmer.
Surviving are a son, Reginald Strange of Royse City; special friends Tim Brown, Otis Brown and Robert Crowell; two brothers, Douglas Howard (Wanda) of Royse City and Eddie Ray Howard of Mesquite; eight sisters, Bobbie Brooks, Christine Pondexter, Lucille Edwards, Novella Williams, Loraine Haitfield, Alene White, Gloria Howard, and Melissa Carol Howard Young; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John L. and Bobbie Lee Howard; Buddy Howard; and sisters Bobbie Howard and Juanita Howard.
