Monique Tollen

GREENVILLE — Monique Dunlap Tollen, 46, was born in Greenville on Dec. 3, 1966, to Bill “Bubba” and Lavisa Dunlap. She passed away on July 22, 2013, following a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.

She graduated from Greenville High School in 1985, attended Texas A&M and received her bachelor’s degree from Baylor University.

She served in the United States Air Force from Aug. 2, 1990, until Aug. 1, 1994. She married Alex Tollen on Oct. 14, 2000. Until the time of her death, she was employed by CAPIS in Dallas.

She is survived by Alex Tollen of Dallas; mother Lavisa Dunlap of Greenville; sister and brother-in-law Melanie and Lee Hill and their children, Michael, Sarah and David Hill of Plano; brother Mike Dunlap and son Hayden Dunlap of Greenville; her grandmother, Margie Webb of Rowlett; aunts Ramona Wright of Greenville, Carol Davis of Rowlett and Romi Clymer of Princeton; great-aunt Margaret Adams of Garland; her longtime family member and friend, Cindy Dunlap Thomas of Greenville; several cousins and a multitude of wonderful, loving friends.

She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.

A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church, 140 Smirl Drive, in Heath.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home on Thursday.
