Joe Pryor

Joe Pryor 65, of Commerce left this world for his home in heaven on Thursday, April 12, 2013.

 He was preceded in death by his father, Ovalee Pryor; his mother Irene Martinez Pryor; and his younger brother, Jack Pryor.

 He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary Pryor; son Joseph Pryor; daughters Catherine Taylor and Helen Elliott; sons-in-law Ben Elliott and Philip Taylor; grandchildren Austin and Julia Taylor; brothers, Bob, James and John Pryor; sisters Thelma Colvin and Shirley Coffman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Pryor was born in Cibolo, Texas on Sept. 27, 1947.

Joe was a long standing member and deacon at Ardis Heights Baptist Church and loved teaching Sunday School.

Visitation for the family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City.

A service to celebrate the life and going home of Joe Pryor will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at Ardis Heights Baptist Church officiated by Danny Gandy and J.P. Perez. 

Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City with Bob Pryor, John Pryor, Joseph Pryor, Marcus Pryor, Benjamin Elliott, and Philip Taylor serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Pryor and John Michael Tandy. 

Memorials may be made to Samaritan’s Purse (Billy Graham Ministries), Buckner Ministries, Bible Broadcasting Network, or Chosen People Ministries.
