James Ragsdale

GREENVILLE — James R. Ragsdale, 58, of Quinlan passed away March 12, 2012, at Hunt Regional Medical Center. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Ranse Moore officiating.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m Thursday until service time at the funeral home.

James was born July 16, 1953, in Dallas to Bob Ray and Barbara Joan (Russell) Ragsdale.

On July 1, 1978, in Dallas, he married Rhonda Bain. James served in the United States Army and was employed as a sheet metal mechanic. He was a member of the Baptist faith and was also a member of the American Legion and the National Rifle Assocation.

His survivors include his wife of Quinlan; son Jason Ragsdale and wife Stephanie of Dallas; daughter Jennifer Ragsdale of Dallas; stepdaughter Terri Jackson of Quinlan; stepgrandchildren Katelynn Newsome, Alexander Buhl, Zaivier Harrison and Izabella Jackson; brothers Danny Ragsdale and wife Tonya of Hurst and Paul Ragsdale of Caddo Mills; and sister Debbie Burrows and husband Jerry of Garland.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Fuchs, Zach Ragsdale, Stevie Ragsdale, Jeff Humphries, Jim Ford and Steve Jensen.
