Ruth Kathryn Ward, 93, of Coconut Creek, Fla., passed away March 30, 2013.
She was born May 18, 1919, in Paris, Texas, to G.C. and Lena Sadler. Ruth had an extensive career as a fourth grade elementary teacher in Greenville, Mesquite, and Austin. She was an accomplished quilter and a lifelong Baptist.
Ruth is survived by her sons, Robert Ward of Dallas and Richard Ward and wife Tammy of Coconut Creek, Fla.; grandchildren David Ward, Brandon Ward, Carey Ward, Michael Ward, David Elmore, Greg Elmore, Greg Thomas and Madison Mihok; great-grandchildren Kelsey Ward, Andrew Ward, Morgan Fisk, Evan Ward, Meredith Ward, Christian Elmore, Henry Elmore, Cameron Elmore and Chloe Elmore; and niece Dottie Litzaw.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and husband Edwin Ward.
Graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville under the direction of Lynch Funeral Service of Greenville.
