Irvin Patterson

— Irvin Ray Patterson, 73, passed away Sept. 4, 2013.

He was born March 26, 1940, in Wood County to Perry and Vina Patterson. Irvin married Barbara Ann Boller on Dec. 26, 1962, in Lubbock; they were happily married for 50 years. Irvin worked for Stewart & Stevenson for 33 years before retiring.

He was a giving man who would help anyone he could and stayed active in retirement with a part-time job driving vehicles for Randall Noe.

Irvin is survived by his wife, Barbara; son and daughter-in-law Ken and Conni Patterson; daughters and sons-in-law Ladonna and Chris Patterson, Kathy and Rex Robertson, and Sarah and Wesley Etheridge; granddaughters and grandsons-in-law Candace and Mike Butler, Kristin Patterson, and Brittaney and Dusten Gambrell, grandsons Clay Patterson, Jeston Robertson, Ryan Robertson, Joshua Etheridge and Wyatt Etheridge; great-granddaughter Cheyanne Gambrell; brother Edwin Patterson; and sister Joyce Patterson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Walter Morris Patterson; his daughter, Rae Ann Patterson; and his grandson, Dylan Dakota Etheridge.

A service to celebrate his life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lynch Funeral Service in Greenville. Interment will follow at Lynch Memorial Park.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
