Eloise Lyons, nee: Brasher Aldridge, joyfully entered the gates of Heaven Sept. 1, 2013. She is now free from many years of pain and physical ailments, and her beautiful spirit is at peace in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Eloise was born in Ennis and raised in Greenville by her loving mother, Addie Brasher. Her father, Homer, passed away from war injuries when she was seven months old.
In her first marriage to T.B. Aldridge, she raised three beautiful children, Suzanne, John and Addie Beth.
Eloise was preceded in death by her mother and her first husband. In 1983, she married Russ Lyons; they made their home in Garland and then Rowlett in 2000.
Eloise was a lady of many talents, including picture framing, oil and ceramic painting, first woman vice president of a Greenville bank, Sunday school teacher, model, Dallas banking, realtor, Altrusa president and bridge player.
She is survived by her husband, Russ; daughters Suzanne and husband Jim Yelvington of Cibolo and Addie Beth and husband Don Mellody of Mt. Pleasant; son John Aldridge and wife Vicki of Richardson; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Eloise’s life is at 1:30 p.m. today at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rowlett chapel. Visitation and viewing will be begin at 12:30 p.m. today prior to the service. A graveside service will follow in Forest Park Cemetery, 5605 Business Highway 69 South, in Greenville.
