Mary B. Caldwell

CELESTE — Mary Belle Caldwell was born on March 21, 1922 in Celeste, Texas to Robert C. and Belle Handley Caldwell. She spent her childhood in Greenville and after college moved to Dallas where she lived for years. Returning to Greenville to care for her mother, she became active in Sunday School at Washington Street Baptist Church and later at Highland Terrace Baptist Church.

Mary spent her last years living at Briarcliff Health Center, where she received wonderful care and attention from the staff. She died there Aug. 29, 2013 surrounded by Gary and Mary Griffin and Kenie Blunt.

Graveside services will be held at Memoryland Memorial Park on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013 at 10 a.m. with Mr. Gary Griffin and Rev. Larry Jordan officiating. She will be interred next to her mother; her brother J.E. and wife Libby Caldwell; and, most recently, her sister, Anne Jennings.

Mary leaves many dear friends: and her niece, Kay Hammond and family; Ellen Caldwell Fuller and family; and nephew, Allan Caldwell; as well as two grand nieces, two grand nephews, and 18 great grand nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Highland Terrace Baptist Church, 3939 Ramsey Blvd., Greenville, Texas, 75401.
