Janell Nix

GREENVILLE — Janell Kilman Nix, 83, of Fort Worth, formerly of Lubbock, passed away Nov. 28, 2013, at the Texas Health Hospital in Fort Worth. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Dr. Jack Cummings officiating.  

Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Janell was born in Jacobia, Texas, on May 29, 1930, to Gordon N. and Oma M. O’Neal Kilman. She married Hoyt C. Nix of Celeste in Jacobia on Aug. 5, 1949. She graduated from Greenville High School in 1949. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Janell was a very faithful member of the Kingsridge Church of Christ in Lubbock where she and Hoyt lived for more than 50 years before moving to Fort Worth in 2012. They are currently members of Western Hills Church of Christ in Fort Worth.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Hoyt C. Nix of Fort Worth; son Mike Nix and wife Shelley of Lubbock; daughter Pam DuLaney and husband Bob of Fort Worth; twin sister Janett Long of Cleveland, Tenn.; grandchildren Russell Nix and wife Bethany, Natalie Nix, Travis DuLaney and wife Leslie, and Trey DuLaney; and great-grandsons Cohen and Crue Nix.  

Her parents, sisters Frankie Jaycon and Colleen Booth, and brother Gary Kilman preceded her in death.

Russell Nix, Natalie Nix, Travis DuLaney and Trey DuLaney will serve as honorary pallbearers.
